Assistant Adminstrator Wins CALA 'Outstanding Department Director'!

Jerry giving a speech talking about why Carol deserves the award.
A big congratulations to Carol Pegg, our assistant administrator and marketing director. Carol was nominated for and won the Colorado Assisted Living Association (CALA) Excellence in Service Award for Outstanding department Director!

The judges were looking for someone who has gone above and beyond in demonstrating their exceptional commitment to Colorado's Assisted Living residents through their role by demonstrating a commitment to self-betterment, example setting, excellence in meeting the needs of their staff and their adult population, and exemplify the CALA values of:

  • People in need of assistance and their right to make choices
  • Our members and their calling to missions of service
  • Our employees and volunteers and the informal networks of family, friends and neighbors who support them
  • Accountability to our communities
  • Reinvestment of our resources in our communities
  • Integrity, collaboration, innovation and creativity
  • Prudent stewardship of resources

  • Carol has a warm, caring nature and all our residents and staff love and appreciate her. She puts the needs of others first, and is an inspiration her family, friends, and the staff.

Carol joined our Park Regency staff at the end of November 2007. Prior to coming to Park Regency, Carol worked in residential property management, where she worked for 12 years in both Denver and in Longmont. Before that she spent 10 years working in the jewelry industry. Many years back, she taught preschool and at one time ran her own business from home. Carol lives in Loveland with her husband and they have been blessed with eight grandchildren. Their 10-year-old grandson lives with them. Five of their other grandchildren live just around the corner from them. Their other two grandchildren live much further away in Nebraska. Carol truly enjoys her time here at Park Regency. In her spare time, she enjoys crocheting afghans, sewing, and baking cookies and cakes for all of her grandchildren, family, and friends.

The Importance of Guarding Against Infections

We want to remind everyone that you have a responsibility to know when you are infectious and capable of spreading whatever infection you have. That includes colds, flu, and virus infections. You can spread colds and/or flu through breathing, coughing, and sneezing. Viruses are spread mostly through contact by touching surfaces. If you are throwing up and have diarrhea, you have a virus and everything you touch can transmit that virus to someone else.

The incubation period of a virus is up to two days before you show symptoms and you are contagious up to two days after your symptoms have ceased. While you are contagious with any infection, you have an obligation to isolate yourself from others, especially the senior population, who often have weakened immune systems and for who contracting a virus can be much more serious. With colds, you could wear a face mask to protect others.

If you visit and are healthy, we ask that you sanitize your hands before and after visiting, to protect yourself and others.
