October Update and Events

NEW PENDANT SYSTEM COMING:

Park Regency will be changing over to a new Emergency Response System in the beginning of October. All residents will receive a new smaller, waterproof pendant that can be worn as a necklace or a watch. Residents will be able to keep them on while showering and using a sink. We will have the capability of adding a new layer of security by installing a keypad at our front door, which will be set to alert our staff when a resident walks out the front door without punching the keypad. An optional pendant can be purchased which will alert staff if a resident falls and is not able to press their pendant. This is only one of several options our new system will be able to offer through technology.

REGISTER TO VOTE AND BE SURE TO VOTE!

I encourage all of our residents, staff, and family members to vote. If you are not registered to vote yet, you can come to Park Regency and our activities director, Sue, has the forms necessary to register. we will have our annual discussion of the issues that will be on the ballot this November on Tuesday, October 9th at 2pm in the Activities Room. Dog Wedding at Park Regency

The dog wedding at Park Regency was a success: the residents of Park Regency sponsored a wedding between two of our dogs, the groom, Snowy, and the bride, Gracie. The best dog was Cowboy and the maid of honor was Heather. Gracie was given away by her owner, June Higgins. The wedding was officiated by Rich Paul, resident of Park Regency. There were 15 dogs and 25 residents in attendance. The couple will reside with their respective owners and be allowed to continue spending time together. The couple has indicated they do not want any puppies any time soon. They would also like any gifts to be a donation to the Larimer County Humane Society.

Park Regency's Annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Show!

Annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair
Saturday, November 3rd, 2012
10:00am - 2:00pm

You are cordially invited to join the Park Regency family as we host our third annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair, hosted in Park Regency's activites room. Come see some of the fine pieces our resident artists have created, as well as those of many fine folks from our local community right here in Loveland, Colorado. Artisans from all over the area will be displaying some of their finest works for you to enjoy and purchase, just in time for the Christmas season.

Everyone is invited, young and old alike.

Come and enjoy our hospitality. Refreshments will be served.

Calling All Artists!

Park Regency Premier Senior Living is pleased to announce that we are hosting an Arts and Crafts Show featuring the talents of our residents here at Park Regency, as well as those of our local community in the Loveland area.

This event is free of charge to both participants and the public. It is open to young and old alike and all forms of art and/or crafts will be considered. Some of the art forms that will be displayed include mosaics, oil paintings, water color paintings, and photography. We do ask that you keep in mind that this is a family-oriented event.

Park Regency will make the space available for all artists to display their art or crafts, but we do ask that all outside artists bring their own tables or other display needs. All participants will be able to sell their projects at this event (though you can just display), so you will also need to provide whatever you may need to collect monies from those attending to view and purchase your art.

Space is available on a first-come-first-serve basis as space will be limited to around fifty participants, so we encourage you to sign up early.

To sign up, all we need you to do is call Sue Stormo at 970-461-1100 x3157 or Jim Pegg at 720-684-7858 or 970-461-1100 x3170, give us some basic information and you're all set. It's just that simple.

Successful Evacuation Drill Performed Today

Today (August 28th), we ran a successful evacuation drill.

The drill was started at 2:25 PM this afternoon, and ran smoothly.

We had set an evacuation time goal of 30 minutes, we are proud to say that the evacuation was carried out in 15 minutes. We ran a very safe drill, and everyone is pleased with the outcome. As our first evacuation drill performed at Park Regency, the drill passed our expectations, and we feel we could not have hoped for anything more the first go-round. Evacuation drills will only be performed once a year.

The drill did show us what worked, as well as what didn't work as well. Thanks to this drill, we can address anything that caused a wrinkle in the evacuation, and, in the case of an actual evacuation due to flooding, power outage, or damage to the building that renders it unlivable for a short or prolonged time, we will better know what to expect.

We would like to thank all the residents for their wonderful cooperation, and all the staff involved for their good work.

In Review: 5th Anniversary Luau Party

Our Luau Party celebrating Park Regency Loveland's 5th Anniversary and our administrator, Jerry Bootzin's 70th birthday, was a huge success. Residents, employees, and guested were treated with delicious food, including flank steak, teriyaki, chicken, coconut mahi mahi, and more, and great deserts such as Alaskan Bake and coconut meringue pie. In the evening, we had more delicious food, and were entertained with music and Hawaiian dancing.

Everyone had a wonderful time. Just look at these photos and videos.
