June News and Events

Updates:
Carol would like to thank everyone who attended our wonderful Mother's Day celebration. Your presence made a special day even more special.

As you may well know, we have been busy painting and redecorating the lobby. Please feel free to stop by and see our new look. We hope you feel it is as warm and inviting as we do.

We have had many changes during May. Andy has taken over for Rebecca in the Marketing/Admissions office. He will be here to help us until he needs to get to work at Park Regency Thornton. Karla moved to California and Eva is our new Administrative Assistant at the front desk. Please welcome both Andy and Eva to their new positions.

At the last resident council meeting, a question was raised regarding the notes that get placed in the ugly brown box. Carol does read each and every note that goes into the box. We have been doing our best to accommodate any requests that we can. I cant tell you that the majority of the notes we receive are complimentary. We have received numerous cards stating how happy everyone is with our new Dietary Manager, Dirk. We do appreciate all your comments.

Memory Wreath:
A memory wreath made by our residents was donated to the Alzheimer's Association to be part of the Memories in the Making auction to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association. The clothing used to make the wreath was donated by residents or by families of residents who had either moved or passed away. The making of the memory wreath proved an excellent means for everyone to reminisce about good times together. We had14 of our crafty residents from our Saturday arts and crafts class work on this wreath. They cut colorful patches out of the various clothing items and stuffed them into a wooden wreath, arranging them into a beautiful design. Sue and Carol were both able to attend the Memories in the Making Auction on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at the Hilton Hotel in Fort Collins. Thank you to all the residents that worked on this project.

May 2013 News and Events

News:

Referral Program
Pick your own neighbor! Refer a friend or family member to move into Park Regency.

If you refer a new private pay resident that moves into Park Regency, after that resident has been living here for three months, Park Regency will pay you a $500 Referral Bonus. In order to qualify for the bonus, the new resident must mention your name at the time of their first tour at Park Regency. All residents, family members of residents, and staff members are eligible to participate in the referral program.

Changes to Medicaid Re-determination Paperwork
There has been some confusion with the Medicaid Re-determination paperwork due to the directions on the forms themselves. In an attempt to scale back the paperwork, the new forms say, "If there are no changes, do nothing." But that is not a correct statement. If there are no changes, you still need to sign the paperwork and return it to Medicaid along with a current bank statement, so that they can verify that nothing has changed. If you receive Medicaid re-determination paperwork and are in need of assistance in completing it or just have questions, both Rebecca and Carol are available to help you.

February News and Events

FEBRUARY NEWS

Emergency Contact Information
Here we are, well on our way in to 2013. We would like to take this opportunity to update all of our emergency contact information. Sometimes family members move or get a new phone number or email address, and we want to be able to reach you if necessary. If you have a loved one at Park Regency, you should have received a form to fill out with your contact information in with your monthly statement. Please feel free to simply drop off your completed form at the front desk or mail it back or even scan it and email it to us. Our email address is parkregency@comcast.net. Thank you for your assistance.

Park Regency Thornton
We are so excited about the progress on Park Regency Thornton. We thought you might enjoy seeing how it is coming along. The construction workers are currently busy working on the third floor of the building. We have a bulletin board across from the elevator near the dining room for you to stop by and see photograph updates.

Training
Our entire staff will be attending all day ongoing training and learning how we can improve the quality of the care that we provide to residents. Half of the staff will attend Jan 26th, and the other half will attend on Feb. 4th. During this training, we will be reviewing all safety and emergency procedures, proper dining room service, infection control, medication administration, resident abuse, residents rights, fall prevention, skin care and wound prevention, etc. In addition, we will have several speakers in to teach us about rehab therapies, home health, and hospice. It will be a full day of inspiring information to help us do the best job we can possibly do to assist our residents and their families.

Shopping
Who wants to go shopping? We all do! Sadly, not everyone who wants to go shopping is available at the time that we have schedules trips to Wal-Mart or King Soopers, etc. Some people miss out on shopping trips due to doctor appointments. For almost all your shopping needs, you can sign up at the front desk to go on schedules trips with Sue. However, if you have a need to get to the store, and our driving is already going that direction and has room for you in the car, we can take you to the store and pick you up at the agree upon time.

Bus Trips
Shopping trips with Sue are every Monday at 12:30, and monthly restaurant trips are at 11:00. The bus holds 18 plus 2 wheelchairs. At the reception desk there is an activity sign up book. Sign up with Karla or the on-duty receptionist at the front desk if you want to go shopping or out to eat. The first 18 get to go but please sign up anyway as an alternate, because if someone can't make it, then you can go in their place. We determine if we can take alternates on the day of the shopping trip, so be in the lobby at 12:30 to see if there is room for you to go.
